Wellsite Geologist

Field Office: Anchorage
Work place location: North Slope and/or Cook Inlet, Alaska
Work duration: 1-3 week rotations

Job description/requirements:

Candidate must have experience geosteering lateral wells to there target zones. Capable of making quality descriptions of cuttings and shows. Evaluate gas and oil shows and recognize drilling breaks. Ability to communicate effectively to drilling staff reasons for slowing or ceasing drilling operations. Make correlations to local stratigraphy and offset wells during drilling. Compose geologic morning reports and summaries. Pick core points as well as describe cores, core chips and sidewall cores. Determine casing points. Supervise and QC logging operations. Responsible for overseeing the transferal of all types of rock material and samples to: operator, partners, vendors, federal and state agencies. Candidate must have a bachelors or advanced degree in geological sciences and a minimum of 3 years wellsite or operations experience. Alaska Geology experience preferred.
