Pluspetrol Norte S.A. Invited Fronterra to Participate in a Multidisciplinary Project in the Northern of Perú
On the 15th August 2007, Pluspetrol Corporation S.A., Pluspetrol Norte S.A., LCV del Perú and Fronterra Geosciences participated in a two day workshop at the offices of LCV del Perú in San Isidro. The main task of this challenging project is the re-evaluation of the traps in the Vivian Formation. The Vivian Formation is present throughout the fields of the Lota 1AB in the Marañòn Basin, located in the frontier between Perù and Equador.
Fronterra Geosciences was represented by Marta D’Angiola who committed Fronterra to the first step of this project – the stratigraphic interpretation of the available image log data. This will include calibration to the sedimentological core results which will be provided by the LCV team.
Alfredo Disalvo, Pluspetrol Corporation’s leader, remarked on the significance of this first step as it provides a vital “Scale Link” between the regional seismic framework and the detailed core description. These datasets combined will not only clarify but give much needed insight to the development of a new stratigraphic model that will help understand the trapping mechanisms in the Lote 1AB fields.
Once again, the benefit of a close working relationship between customer and contractor is ratified.
