Fault Analysis
Fault recognition is based on the observation of one or several fault recognition criteria. In the example shown the fault forms the boundary between dip domains and is also characterized by severe brecciation of the strata. Stereographic projection techniques will be employed to determine the attitude of the faults, if fault planes are not directly recognizable as distinct features in the formation images.
Drilling records and dynamic well information will be integrated in the comprehensive fault analysis. The entire fault data set of a well or field will be integrated to a cinematic fault model to assist in the 3D evaluation of a structural setting.
